The European Parliament rejects the Commission proposal

Justification

The European Parliament has declared a climate and environment emergency. A transition to a fair, healthy and environmentally-friendly food system is essential, in order to address the climate and biodiversity crises, animal suffering and to protect and ensure human and animal health, food sovereignty and the resilience of the farming community, particularly family farms. The CAP-proposal on the table does not offer solutions and continues to provide billions of euros in subsidies for environmentally harmful and cruel farming practices. A small number of large farms will continue to receive the most money. This CAP contradicts the aims and goals of the Green deal and the Biodiversity- and Farm to Fork strategies. Therefore we should vote this CAP down.
