Reiterates that food losses and food waste must be reduced from farm to fork; welcomes, therefore, the upcoming revision of the Waste Framework Directive, including the setting of EU food waste reduction targets; calls for an enforceable EU-wide food waste reduction target of 50 % by 2030, based on a common methodology; underlines the positive effects that short food supply chains can have for reducing food waste1i, and calls furthermore for concrete measures and binding targets to reduce the loss of food at farm level;
