1. The objectives of the common agricultural policy shall be:

(a) to ensure a full and swift transition to agro-ecological, sustainable, healthy and animal friendly agricultural production

(b) thus to ensure a fair standard of living for the agricultural community, in particular by increasing the individual earnings of persons engaged in agriculture

(c) to ensure that sustainable supplies reach consumers at reasonable prices and that the polluter pays principle is applied throughout the food chain

In formulating and implementing the Union's agriculture, fisheries, trade, chemicals, transport, internal market, research and technological development and space policies, the Union and the Member States shall, since animals are sentient beings, pay full regard to the welfare requirements of animals. No derogations shall apply.

Protocol (No 6) to the TEU

(a) At the latest by 1 January 2024 the European Council shall take a decision in order to achieve that the European Parliament will have its seat in one single location in the European Union, in order to prohibit the financial costs and the CO2 emissions of the current monthly travel circus between Strasbourg and Brussel. Until January 2024, the European Parliament shall have its seat in Strasbourg where the 12 periods of monthly plenary sessions, including the budget session, shall be held, with the possibility of hybrid voting sessions and debates. The periods of additional plenary sessions shall be held in Brussels. The committees of the European Parliament shall meet in Brussels. The General Secretariat of the European Parliament and its departments shall remain in Luxembourg.
