G. whereas the growth in per capita income in emerging countries drives a shift in diets towards products with a higher protein content and processed products, promoting a process of dietary convergence worldwide along the models of richer populations;

G. whereas the growth in per capita income in emerging countries drives a shift in diets towards products with a higher protein content, in particular of animal origin, and processed products, promoting a process of dietary convergence worldwide along the models of richer populations, resulting in a substantially higher dietary impact on the environment;
